Course Overview
This apprenticeship develops skilled mentors who support learners of all ages and levels to progress within new or existing work roles.
You will build the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to mentor individuals and groups effectively, helping them develop confidence, capability and independence in their learning and professional development. The programme focuses on ethical mentoring practice, inclusive support, collaboration with stakeholders and reflective professional development.
By the end of the apprenticeship, you will be confidently supporting learners to achieve agreed goals while maintaining high standards of mentoring practice across a range of sectors and settings.

Role Overview
As a Learning and Skills Mentor, you will:
Support individuals and groups with learning and development
Work within ethical, legal and organisational frameworks
Tailor mentoring approaches to individual needs
Build effective mentoring relationships
Collaborate with employers, trainers and other stakeholders
Support learners to achieve agreed learning and progression goals
Reflect on and develop your own mentoring practice
Mentoring may take place face to face or remotely and across a variety of organisational settings.

Observation with questions
Minimum duration: 2 hours
Independent assessor observation
At least 5 questions
Professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence
Duration: 60 minutes
At least 8 questions
Portfolio of evidence required before gateway

On successful completion, you will receive your apprenticeship certificate.
To enter the EPA gateway, you must have:
Achieved English and Maths in line with apprenticeship funding rules
Submitted a portfolio of evidence
Reasonable adjustments may be available for apprentices with disabilities, health conditions or other specific needs. These are agreed with the employer, training provider and end point assessment organisation.
