Course Overview

This apprenticeship develops skilled mentors who support learners of all ages and levels to progress within new or existing work roles.

You will build the knowledge, skills and behaviours needed to mentor individuals and groups effectively, helping them develop confidence, capability and independence in their learning and professional development. The programme focuses on ethical mentoring practice, inclusive support, collaboration with stakeholders and reflective professional development.

By the end of the apprenticeship, you will be confidently supporting learners to achieve agreed goals while maintaining high standards of mentoring practice across a range of sectors and settings.

End point assessment evaluates your competence against the apprenticeship standard.

Assessment Methods

Observation with questions

  • Minimum duration: 2 hours

  • Independent assessor observation

  • At least 5 questions

Professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence

  • Duration: 60 minutes

  • At least 8 questions

  • Portfolio of evidence required before gateway

On successful completion, you will receive your apprenticeship certificate.

To enter the EPA gateway, you must have:

  • Achieved English and Maths in line with apprenticeship funding rules

  • Submitted a portfolio of evidence

Reasonable adjustments may be available for apprentices with disabilities, health conditions or other specific needs. These are agreed with the employer, training provider and end point assessment organisation.
