iCQ Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Behaviour that Challenges

Course Overview

This qualification builds the knowledge needed to understand behaviour that challenges, why it happens, how it affects others and how to support people in positive, respectful and safe ways.

It strengthens confidence for those working or volunteering in health, education, social care or community support roles — or anyone wanting to better understand behaviour linked to distress, communication or unmet need.

Assessment is through a portfolio of evidence — no exams — and you complete it by demonstrating your understanding through structured learning tasks.

Who Is This For?

  • Those new to the sector who want deeper knowledge of behaviour and support approaches

  • Anyone who wants to progress into roles supporting people with learning disabilities, autism, dementia or mental health needs

  • Suitable for ages 16+
